Father Thank You for another BLESSED HOLY FEAST DAY. Thank You for Your ETERNAL PROMISES. Thank You for giving us so many reasons to REJOICE IN THE HOPE THAT IS Your Son YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST. Praise You and Bless You in Yeshua, Jesus Christ's Name. Amen! Happy Feast of Trumpets Everybody! Today we blow our Shofars, lift our voices in praise, and honor The King! The next 10 days leading up to The Day of Atonement, The High Holiest Day of The Year, are called “The 10 Days of Awe.” These 10 days are all about Teshuvah (Repentance/Returning To God), preparing ourselves, cleansing ourselves, and making sure we are ready for our coming King. Today, as we blow our trumpets/shofars and lift our “shouts” (in Hebrew Yom Teruah “Day of Shouts”) let’s focus in on Our King, The Good Shepherd, and us His Sheep. Oh how The Good Shepherd Cares for us! On Feast of Trumpets, one day, He Will Return. Today we blow the shofar and lift our praises in rehearsal of His Coming. Today we remember, We Are The Sheep, and He Is The Good Shepherd. Happy Feast Day everyone! Love you all and may God Our Father and His Son, Our King and Eternal Good Shepherd, Bless you all! Shabbat Shalom! -The 40 Days of Elul (Day 30)(Day 1 of The 10 Days of Awe): We Are The Sheep, He Is The Shepherd If you do a study on sheep you find out one thing pretty quick, they are not very intelligent. They go astray, have no sense of direction, and become lost very easily. Many times they will wander into creeks and when they get wet, the heavy wool on their bodies becomes soaked with water, their wool becomes heavy, and they drown in the water. We aren't so different from the sheep. We need a Good Shepherd to look after us. Many times we can get soaked in the waters of life that we probably shouldn't have entered in the first place. Soaked, weighed down, and unable to get ourselves out, we are an easy target for the enemy who seeks to devour us. We have no defense... until The Good Shepherd arrives in our lives and lifts us out of the water... just like He did Peter when he stepped off the boat (Matthew 14:27-33). There is no shortage of Scripture giving us the metaphor that we are Our Savior's Sheep and He, Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Is Our Good Shepherd. THE WAY the sheep stay out of trouble, don't wander into the waters of life that can be deadly, and live a protected, healthy life is to follow The Good Shepherd closely. We know His Voice, now we just need to follow Him. The closer we are to The Good Shepherd, the closer we are to Our Salvation... quite literally. As we go through this Holy Day/Sabbath today lifting our praises and blowing our shofars, may we all follow Our Good Shepherd, Our Perfect Example of A Protector and Provider. He Works Miracles, Saves Lives, Leads All Lost Sheep Back To The Fold, Gives His Life So We, His Sheep, Can Live Abundant Lives, and... He Is Coming Back! Praise Be To God Our Father For Providing A Perfect Shepherd...HIMSELF! Long Live The King!!! The Good Shepherd Who Lays Down His Life For Us: “All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6 The Good Shepherd Who Protects And Comforts Us: “The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s Sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your Rod and Your Staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my Life; And I will dwell in The House of The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) Forever.” Psalms 23:1-6 The Good Shepherd Who Finds Us: “‘For thus says The Lord (YHWH, Yahweh) GOD: “Indeed I Myself will search for My Sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd seeks out his flock on the day he is among his scattered sheep, so will I seek out My Sheep and deliver them from all the places where they were scattered on a cloudy and dark day.” Ezekiel 34:11-12 The Good Sheherd Who Leads Us: “But He who enters by the door is The Shepherd of the sheep. To Him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear His Voice; and He calls His Own Sheep by name and leads them out. And when He brings out His Own Sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for they know His Voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” John 10:2-5 The Good Shepherd Who Unites Us Into One Flock: “I Am The Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His Life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not The Shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. I Am The Good Shepherd; and I know My Sheep, and am known by My Own. As The Father knows Me, even so I know The Father; and I lay down My Life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My Voice; and there will be One Flock and One Shepherd.” John 10:11-16 Extra Scripture for Elul: “I am my Beloved’s, and my Beloved is mine. He feeds His Flock among the lilies.” Song of Solomon 6:3
