Good Morning Sabbath...
Father, Your COMMANDMENTS (Instructions) are a Lamp to our feet. Help us to live aware, to choose wisely, to stay close to You, and anchored in Your Truth! Thank You for Your GREAT LOVE and MERCY. Thank You that You Wait For Us and You STRENGTHen Us. We come to You today, choosing to walk in Your Presence, Instruction, AND LIGHT. In YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST’s Name we pray. Amen! - A 10 Commandment Countdown To 2022 - Command/Instruction #8 - Don’t Take, GIVE “You shall not steal.” Exodus 20:15 . “You shall not steal.” Deuteronomy 5:19 “You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.” Leviticus 19:11 Instruction: Today we live in a society where it is easier to steal than ever before. With the invention of the internet, it is not just grocery stores, department stores, and homes that are stolen from anymore. When we stop to think about it, we actually live in a society where we have to be diligent in order not to accidentally steal. Did you buy one of those dvds on the subway? You may have just stolen. Worse than anything we can think about stealing...we actually try to steal glory from God Himself. Today, will we give honor to an imaginary fat guy in a red suit, who we are told is watching us, or to Our Father and Jesus Christ Who Really Is THE ONE Watching Us? Will we actually pull out our Bibles, talk about Yeshua, Jesus Christ, and His Presence? Or will we be consumed with our presents. We have a choice: our presents or His Presence. We may not be audited and caught on a fraudulent tax return, we may not be held to account by our children today for talking about imaginary men who sneak in chimneys, and cameras may not pick up what happens in the store, but Our Father sees everything we steal from Him... and others. The Giving of Thanks: Since Our Father has promised to be our supply, we don't need to steal. He has given us The Greatest Gift In All Eternity... Our King and Savior Jesus Christ. When we do steal, whether from a person, or Him, it is if we are saying: "God, you haven't given us enough, we want more" or "I don't trust You to supply." Instead of stealing, let us thank The God of All Glory for what He has given us and show our trust in Him to continue to provide for our needs. We can also thank Him that through this commandment He protects the things that belong to us from being taken by other people (Luther). Confession: Let us confess any ways we may have engaged in stealing. Let us ask God Our Father, if we have stolen, how we may make restitution for for those items. Then, let us ask how we may give instead of steal (Ephesians 4:28 See Picture Verses). Now, most importantly, let us ask Our Father to reveal anything we may have been robbing of Him that He is due. Confess anything that He brings to mind. Have faith and trust in His Kindness, Mercy, and Grace to cover these things in Our Savior Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Prayer: Dear Father, You Are The Great Giver of All Things. Not only have You given us Life and Salvation, but also possessions to help others with and enjoy. We ask today Father, for hearts that give rather than take, that share rather than steal, that Honor You and not things. We ask for minds that think of You and others first. We want to truly honor You Father, rather than trying to take honor for ourselves or give it to vain imaginations. We ask for these things in the Name of The Ultimate Giver Whom You Gave For Us, Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Amen.
