Good Morning Sunday...
Father God, Thank You for this NEW DAY. Thank You for each NEW BREATH You Give Us. Thank You for the many gifts you have bestowed upon us, and in our APPRECIATION let us PRAISE You, HONOR You, and give OBEDIENCE to You first. We ask You for DISCERNMENT with the things we may not be “seeing,” so that we may grow closer to You and HAVE COMPLETE LIVES, showing Your Glory. We ask these things IN YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST’s Name. AMEN! - David: The Anointed King of Israel (Part 3) The Times Are Changing and Answering Tough Questions: “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” Judges 21:25 Judges 21:25 describes the scene in Israel during the days that Our Father began to raise up David as King of Israel. To put things into perspective, David was only five generations away from his ancestors who had been freed from Egypt by Our Father. In fact, Israel had only just become a nation. The land was there, Yahweh Our Father had given it to them, but no form of government existed. Israel had no armed forces and really were only a set of tribes. These tribes knew nothing about war and really only fought among themselves. With other nations such as the Philistines and the Amalekites, who were far superior in their organization and training, Israel, doing "what was right in their own eyes," had drifted from Our Father, and because of this they were oppressed by these foreign nations. The Philistines were particularly advance in their warfare past the Israelites in one area: the Philistines had iron. You see, Israel was still in the Bronze Age and the Philistines forbad them from owning iron, even to the point that the Israelites traveled to surrounding Philistine camps to get their plows and tools sharpened. Until just before David's reign, and before Saul was king, Israel had no government, no army, no organization, and no "earthly" king. The people were not obeying Our Father's Will and were being oppressed by warring and barbaric nations on all sides. David was raised up in a sort of "wild west" era that we cannot imagine. This is something to keep in mind as we go through some of the more uncomfortable parts of David's story. We must understand the harsh times David was raised in to understand who David truly was. We aren't dealing with a "New Testament" era, and to judge the people of this time as such would be a mistake. As our opening verse stated, everyone was doing whatever they wanted. Israel had fallen from that first generation that had entered The Promised Land Of Our Father. Despicable things were happening in Israel and it was because no one "remembered" what Our Father had told them. Maybe this is why Our Father used the term "remember" 117 times in The Old Testament. He wants us to remember. The Israelites, who had God Almighty as their King, were so rebellious in those days that they even had the nerve to ask for "a king." The Israelites had become so blind that they rejected The Perfect King to ask for an earthly one. Enter Saul. While David was the greatest "earthly" leader Israel ever had, he wasn't the first. Israel’s first earthly king title went to Saul. While Saul may have began as a humble man, he didn't stay that way for long. To Saul's credit he did grow up in a time that was far from civilized, but this can't excuse his fleshly, carnal, and weak resolve, especially when Our Father had blessed him so abundantly. Saul was the one to first inherit a seemingly impossible situation, but he did not understand something that King David did... With God, All Things Are Possible. Let's pick up here tomorrow. Until then, let's think about these tough questions we must all face at some point in our Christian Walk: - Are we "Remembering" what Our Father and Savior have taught us, as when we were first blessed with His Saving Knowledge? Are we honoring Him? - Are we putting something or asking for something in our lives that is taking the focus off of or causing us to reject Our Father and Savior as The One True King? - Are we ourselves just doing what seems right in our own eyes? Is the rest of society? Who are we following? - Do we really believe that all things are possible with God Our Father? The Word of God: “Then Samuel called the people together to The LORD (Yahweh, YHWH) at Mizpah, and said to the children of Israel, “Thus says The LORD (Yahweh, YHWH) God of Israel: ‘I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of all kingdoms and from those who oppressed you.’ But you have today rejected your God, who Himself saved you from all your adversities and your tribulations; and you have said to Him, ‘No, set a king over us!’ Now therefore, present yourselves before The LORD (Yahweh, YHWH) by your tribes and by your clans.” I Samuel 10:17-19 “And when you saw that Nahash king of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when The LORD (Yahweh) your God was your King. “Now therefore, here is the king whom you have chosen and whom you have desired. And take note, The LORD (Yahweh) has set a king over you. If you fear The LORD (Yahweh) and serve Him and obey His Voice, and do not rebel against The Commandment of The LORD (Yahweh), then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following The LORD (Yahweh) your God. However, if you do not obey the voice of The LORD (Yahweh), but rebel against the commandment of The LORD (Yahweh), then The Hand of The LORD (Yahweh) will be against you, as it was against your fathers.” I Samuel 12:12-15 “And all the people said to Samuel, “Pray for your servants to The LORD (Yahweh) your God, that we may not die; for we have added to all our sins the evil of asking a king for ourselves.” Then Samuel said to the people, “Do not fear. You have done all this wickedness; yet do not turn aside from following The LORD (Yahweh), but serve The LORD (Yahweh) with all your heart. And do not turn aside; for then you would go after empty things which cannot profit or deliver, for they are nothing. For The LORD (Yahweh) will not forsake His people, for His Great Name’s sake, because it has pleased The LORD (Yahweh) to make you His people. Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against The LORD (Yahweh) in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way. Only fear The LORD (Yahweh), and serve Him in Truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you. But if you still do wickedly, you shall be swept away, both you and your king.” I Samuel 12:19-25 “Now there was no blacksmith to be found throughout all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, “Lest the Hebrews make swords or spears.” But all the Israelites would go down to the Philistines to sharpen each man’s plowshare, his mattock, his ax, and his sickle; and the charge for a sharpening was a pim for the plowshares, the mattocks, the forks, and the axes, and to set the points of the goads. So it came about, on the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people who were with Saul and Jonathan. But they were found with Saul and Jonathan his son.” I Samuel 13:19-22 “But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but With God All Things Are Possible.” Matthew 19:26 “If there is a messenger for him, A mediator, one among a thousand, To show man His uprightness, Then He is gracious to him, and says, ‘Deliver him from going down to the Pit; I have found a ransom’; His flesh shall be young like a child’s, He shall return to the days of his youth. He shall pray to God, and He will delight in him, He shall see His face with joy, For He restores to man His righteousness. Then he looks at men and says, ‘I have sinned, and perverted what was right, And it did not profit me.’ He will redeem his soul from going down to the Pit, And his life shall see The Light. “Behold, God works all these things, Twice, in fact, three times with a man, To bring back his soul from the Pit, That he may be enlightened with The Light of Life.” Job 33:23-30 God Bless everybody and have a Wonderful Faith-Filled Week! Good Morning Sacred Sabbath...
Thank You Father for this new day. Please do a new work in us. You’re Brilliant and Good, and You Love us. Father, do whatever you’d like, and whatever it is... help us to accept Your Graceful Will. Help us to trust You more than we trust ourselves and give us peace on this Your Holy Sabbath. We ask these things in our Master and Messiah’s Name, Yeshua, Jesus Christ. Amen. - David: The Anointed King of Israel (Part 2) David was many things, but his most important role was "Servant of God." Without Our Father in David's life, he may have just been a regular ol shepherd his whole life, who knows. The fact is, David had Our Father in his life from beginning to end and because he loved God Our Father with "all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his strength," Our Father raised him up to do mighty things. Not only did Our Father raise up David to do mighty things, but he even had The Greatest Man To Ever Live come from David's bloodline. Talk about cementing David's name in eternity! The same goes for us. Right now, we are unfolding the newest testament in the Bible. If we give our heart, soul, and strength to Our Father in Heaven and Our Savior, we too can accomplish mighty things for The Kingdom of Heaven, and… we can do it while we are still here on earth. In this part of "David: The Anointed King of Israel " series, let's take a look at seven verses that give us an idea of the types of things that happened to David because of his faithfulness. As we read, let’s imagine the types of things Our Father could use us for, if... we but put our faith in Him and love Him with all we have. Without further ado, let's take a look at seven verses from God's Word about the life of David, what God used David to accomplish, and how David was rewarded for his faithfulness. The Word of Truth: Part of loving Our Father with all our heart, soul, and mind is judging in righteousness and being just. David, a “shadow” of Our Messiah, did this well: “So David reigned over all Israel, and administered judgment and justice to all his people.” I Chronicles 18:14 Saul just didn't cut it as king of Israel. He was selfish and prideful. This just wouldn't do, so God raised up a man after His Own Heart. His faithfulness was so great that Our Father brought forth from his bloodline The Savior of The Whole World: “And when He had removed him, He raised up for them David as king, to whom also He gave testimony and said, ‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My Will.’ From this man’s seed, according to The Promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior—Jesus—” Acts 13:22-23 Our Father had a great way of accomplishing His Means, leaving lessons for us, and raising up His servant David. David was shown he could be trusted in a little, so Our Father made him trusted over much: “Now Saul was afraid of David, because The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) was with him, but had departed from Saul. Therefore Saul removed him from his presence, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people. And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) was with him.” I Samuel 18:12-14 David followed commandments and was blessed. He never fell in battle because he was close to The Most High and that is where he placed his trust. In The Book of Deuteronomy we read about blessings and curses, David wanted blessings. Always seeking after God is why David's enemies fell at his hands: “So David did as God commanded him, and they drove back the army of the Philistines from Gibeon as far as Gezer. Then the fame of David went out into all lands, and The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) brought the fear of him upon all nations.” I Chronicles 14:16-17 When Our Father says something, you can bet your bottom dollar it will be accomplished. He said "I Will Establish," and establish He did: “I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them— My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd. And I, The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh), will be their God, and My servant David a prince among them; I, The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh), have spoken.” Ezekiel 34:23-24 Our Father ALWAYS keeps His Promises. David's life is a witness to this fact: “Yet The LORD (YHWH, Yahweh) would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that He had made with David, and since He had promised to give A Lamp to him and to his sons forever.” II Chronicles 21:7 Great leaders need friends. Our Father gave David a true friend and Brother in Jonathan. This is the model of friendship we should all follow. We all need friends, Brothers, and Sisters in The Body of Christ to share with, weep with, and celebrate with. Jonathan and David had this friendship: “As soon as the lad had gone, David arose from a place toward the south, fell on his face to the ground, and bowed down three times. And they kissed one another; and they wept together, but David more so.” I Samuel 20:41 Have a Great Yeshua, Our Eternal King, Jesus Filled, and Loving Sabbath everyone. May we all fill our Lamps today and the go out this week and be Servants of The One True and Living God! Please leave any questions, comments, insights, Biblical Nuggets, encouragement, or thoughts in the comments below. Good Morning Faith-Building Friday...
We give thanks unto You, Our Father In Heaven, that, in mercy, You have restored our souls within us. Endless is Your Compassion; Great is Your Faithfulness. We thank You, God Almighty, for the rest You have given us through the night and for Your Holy Breath, Your Holy Spirit, that renews our bodies and spirit. In Yeshua, Jesus Christ’s Name. Amen. Good morning My Brothers and Sisters. I have been waiting to share this series to follow along with a current Bible Study we are doing each Friday. The timing is finally right. Praying that it reminds us all of a few things we may have forgotten, helps those following along in the Bible Study, and gives us all some new perspectives, Biblical Nuggets, and things to share with others. This is definitely one of this servants favorite Biblical subjects, and arguable two of the most exciting books in The Bible, 1 and 2 Samuel. Enjoy and Yahweh Yeshua Bless you all! - David: The Anointed King of Israel (Part 1) Baby Brother. Shepherd Boy. Chieftain. Warrior. Mercenary. Poet. Musician. Military Strategist. Political Leader. King. In Our Father's Word David has a significantly large part. He was "The Man After Gods Own Heart." While the twenty first century has painted a picture of David that is "sugar coated," David was not always right, nor was his story always pleasant. He made many mistakes. Mistakes we can learn from. The key to David's success though? Well, certainly Our Father's Promise Is What Kept David Safe, but what was it that David had that made him so pleasing to The Creator of All Things, Our Eternal King and Father? I would prepose it was following the First Commandment. Take a look at any of the Psalms David wrote and you will get a good indication of where David's heart was. While David made many mistakes, he knew Whose he was and he knew Who was in control. Because he was a man, sometimes he would lose himself, but he always found himself when he reached out to The Most High, Our Father. Broke, on the run, scared, and alone, we find David in a cave, hiding, and with no one to turn to but Our Father In Heaven. Let's take a look at what he prayed and wrote in that cave. Let’s see if we can spot what pleased Our Father In Heaven, The Eternal King, so much: “I cry out with my voice to Yahweh; I implore favor with my voice to Yahweh. I pour out my complaint before Him; I declare my trouble before Him. When my spirit faints within me, You know my way. On the path where I walk, they have hidden a trap for me; look to my right and see. There is no one looking out for me; there is no escape for me; no one cares for my soul. I cry out to you, O Yahweh. I say, “You are my Refuge, my Portion in The Land of The Living.” Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low. Deliver me from my pursuers, for they are stronger than I. Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to Your Name. The righteous will encircle me, because You will deal bountifully with me.” Psalms 142:1-7 LEB David trusted in Our Father and His Saving Power. He knew no one could defy The One True and Living God. No matter what David went through, no matter how long he "went dark" on God, he always knew and returned to Our Father. It is no different for us. Our Father will protect, guard, discipline, and Love us as much as we allow Him. If we can but let Our Father train and discipline us like David, can you imagine what each of us could accomplish? The mere thought is exciting, amazing, and should plant in all of us a desire to draw closer to Our Father. After all, David was a genius. Not just a "jack of all trades and an expert at none," but instead an "Expert At All Things and a jack of none." Musician, psalmist, king, shepherd, mercenary, expert in guerrilla warfare, and the list goes on. He was mediocre at none of these positions. Over the next several days we will be looking at David. We won't just be looking at the king part of his career, but also at the not-so-pretty parts of his life. With such a large part of The Bible dedicated to this man, the same one Our Father Lifted Up As A Hero, there has to be much to learn from his Life. Of course David the King is just a shadow, or a picture of, Our One True King Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Who Is Saving The Entire World. But what about the parts that don't show a picture of Jesus? These are the parts where we might just possibly learn the most about ourselves. No one can be Yeshua, Jesus, The Perfect Man... except for Him. One day Our Father and Savior Will Perfect Us, but there is no doubt, we all have the capability to be just as absent minded as David in many of his escapades. The great men of The Bible, like David, always point us to The Great Man of The Bible, Our Savior and King. This great king David whom Our Father Lifted Up for Israel after "the bad egg" and Israel's 1st earthly king, Saul, was merely a foreshadowing of His Son, The One True Great King, Yeshua, Jesus Christ. One day we will be filled with The Holy Spirit to know just how Great Our Messiah Is. Until we can fully grasp the magnitude of Our Savior's Sacrifice, which may not be possible at present, we can take a look at the mistakes of the great men in The Bible, see ourselves, our problems, our short comings, and begin to work on those with Our Father and Savior. We can let Our Father work through us, making us more like His Son and Our Savior. I hope you enjoy this series as we explore the Life of David, The Anointed King of Israel. God Bless Everybody and have a Great-Eternal-King-Filled-Friday! The Word of YHVH (Yahweh, God, LORD, Yahuah, Adonia) Almighty: Our Father Told The 1st Earthly King of Israel, Saul, he was no longer The Anointed King of God. He had found David, a man after His Own Heart: “But now, your kingdom will not endure. Yahweh has sought for Himself a man according to His own heart, and Yahweh has appointed him as leader over his people, because you have not kept what Yahweh commanded you.” 1 Samuel 13:14 LEB “But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD (YHVH, Yahweh )has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and The LORD (YHVH, Yahweh) has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what The LORD (YHVH, Yahweh) commanded you.” I Samuel 13:14 NKJV Our Father had "weighed" David's heart as a young shepherd boy and hand picked him to lead Israel forward: “Every way of a man is upright in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs hearts.” Proverbs 21:2 LEB “Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But The LORD (YHVH, Yahweh) weighs the hearts.” Proverbs 21:2 NKJV Our Father Tells Us, He Will Give Us "Shepherds" To Learn From. He Sent Prophets, Kings (David Included), Servants, and finally when no one would listen... He Came Himself: “Then I will give you shepherds after My Own Heart and they will feed you knowledge and insight.” Jeremiah 3:15 LEB “And I will give you shepherds according to My Heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15 NKJV We look forward to the day Our Kind Father makes us all a people "after His Own Heart.": “And I will give to them One Heart and One Way, to revere Me forever, for good to them, and to their children after them. And I will make with them an everlasting covenant that I will not turn away from them, My Doing Good to them, and My Reverence I will put in their hearts so that they will not turn aside from Me.” Jeremiah 32:39-40 LEB “then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me.” Jeremiah 32:39-40 NKJV David found himself in a situation his son Solomon would write about many years later after David passed. Not going to battle as he usually did, and "taking it easy" led to one of David's most grievous sins...his affair with Bathsheba. We should all be wary of "a little slumber.": “Then I myself saw and my heart considered; I looked, and I took hold of instruction: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands for rest, and your poverty will come running, and your lack like an armed warrior.” Proverbs 24:32-34 LEB “When I saw it, I considered it well; I looked on it and received instruction: A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest; So shall your poverty come like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.” Proverbs 24:32-34 NKJV Please leave any questions, comments, insights, Biblical Nuggets, encouragement, or thoughts in the comments below. Good Morning Thirsty For The Word Thursday...
FATHER thank You for THIS NEW DAY. As You WALK WITH US today, please KEEP US FOCUSED ON YOUR TRUTH. Please continue to FILL OUR HEARTS & MINDS WITH YOUR PEACE and straighten the paths before us. ABBA, HELP US TO BRING FORTH YOUR WORD whatever we may face, STANDING FIRM LIKE YOUR SERVANT OBADIAH AND OUR PERFECT EXAMPLE YESHUA. Everyday, we ask you to HELP US TO SEE OUR SINs, REPENT from them, CONFESS them, AND BE CLEANSED BY YOUR MIGHTY RIGHT HAND. IN YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST’s Glorious and Mighty Name we ask these things Father. AMEN! - What Are The Prophets Saying? (The Book of Obadiah) There are so many times I have found myself discouraged, confused, or frustrated, and wasn't sure where to turn in The Bible and find an answer to my woes. Almost without exception, wherever I turned in The Word to find my answer, whether I started in The Gospel or Genesis, I usually ended up at The Prophets. The prophets have not only a wealth of prophecy, amazing stories of triumph, encouragement, and wonderful messages for us all as a Christian Family, but they also contain a wealth of messages for each and everyone of us personally. This is literally The Almighty Father Speaking To Us! Just as Jesus Himself Spoke, so too did The Prophets Speak His Word.🔥 Our Father and Yeshua, Jesus Christ, so loved us that He never stopped sending loyal servants, again and again, to give all of us together, and individually, messages, over and over. Remember the Parable of the Vineyard Owner (Matt 21:33-46)? The Master sent His Servants, which the people beat or killed (Prophets), then The Master Sends His Son (Yeshua, Jesus) thinking the people renting his land will be more amiable... they weren't. In fact, they killed Him thinking that they would receive "the inheritance." Does this story sound familiar or what?! Our Savior Was, Is, and Always Will Be The Smartest Person Of All Time. For this reason...these parables, and The Word of God Spoken Through The Prophets, should be carefully studied. Within this Ancient Wise Parable that Yeshua Spoke, we find The Prophets of God ( The Servants) came before He (The Master) Sent His Son. With that in mind, let us take a look today at what Obadiah, A Prophet of Yahweh (YHWH or God), God Himself, and Our Savior, were trying to relay to "all of us" and "each of us" in today's Scriptures. Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we humbly come before you today to receive Your Word and Your Message. As we read passages from Your Servant Obadiah, please open our hearts and minds to what you are trying to tell us as a group, and what you are saying to us individually. You are Mighty Father and we know You Have Sent To Us, In Your Word, Messages of Encouragement, Discipline, Repentance, Reconciliation, Salvation, and Love for Your Children. We thank You! Let us come before You today as Your Children and enjoy Our Daily Bread With You, Abba. We Love You And Praise You Father. In Yeshua, Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name We Pray. Amen! The Word of God: The Book of Obadiah, A Prophet of God Almighty, Yahweh, and The Savior of The World, Yeshua Jesus Christ: “The vision of Obadiah. Thus says my LORD Yahweh concerning Edom: We have heard a report from Yahweh, and a messenger has been sent among the nations: “Rise up and let us rise against it for battle.” “Look, I will make you insignificant among the nations. You will be utterly despised!” Obadiah 1:1-2 LEB “The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of a rock, the heights of its dwelling, you who say in your heart: ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?’ Even if you soar like the eagle, even if your nest is set among the stars, from there I will bring you down!” declares Yahweh:” Obadiah 1:3-4 LEB “Because of the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame will cover you and you will be cut off forever. On the day you stood nearby, on the day strangers took his wealth, and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots over Jerusalem, you were also like one of them.” Obadiah 1:10-11 LEB “But you should not have gloated over your brother’s day, on the day of his misfortune, and you should not have rejoiced over the people of Judah on the day of their perishing, and you should not have opened your mouth wide on the day of distress.” Obadiah 1:12 LEB “For The Day of Yahweh is near against all the nations! Just as you have done, it will be done to you. Your deeds will return on your own head. For just as you have drunk on my holy mountain, all the nations will drink continually. They will drink and they will slurp, and they will be as if they had never been.” Obadiah 1:15-16 LEB “But on Mount Zion [in Jerusalem] there shall be [deliverance for] those who escape, And it shall be holy [no pagan will defile it]; And the house of Jacob shall possess their [former] possessions.” Obadiah 1:17 AMP “The house of Jacob will be a fire, the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble. They will burn among them, and devour them. There will not be any remaining to the house of Esau.” Indeed, Yahweh has spoken.” Obadiah 1:18 WEB “Those of the South will possess the mountain of Esau, and those of the lowland, the Philistines. They will possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria. Benjamin will possess Gilead. The captives of this army of the children of Israel, who are among the Canaanites, will possess even to Zarephath; and the captives of Jerusalem, who are in Sepharad, will possess the cities of the Negev. Saviors will go up on Mount Zion to judge the mountains of Esau, and The Kingdom will be Yahweh’s.” Obadiah 1:19-21 WEB Yahweh Yeshua Ha’Mashiach Bless You My Brother and Sisters! Have a wonderful Yeshua-The-Word-of-God-Faith-Building Thursday! Please leave any questions, comments, insights, Biblical Nuggets, encouragement, or thoughts in the comments below. Good Morning Wednesday....
Father Thank You for this NEW Day. Please grant us TRUTH, WISDOM, DISCERNMENT, UNDERSTANDING, and KNOWLEDGE. Father we ask this so that we will not be conformed to this world, but TRANSFORMED by the renewing of our MINDS. In YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST'S Name. Amen. - Foxes Have Holes And Birds Of The Air Have Nests. You... Follow Me! (Remastered) This is not the devotion that was planned for, back when it was written, but...Our Father had a plan, and His plans will ALWAYS prevail (Thank Goodness!). I would say He always has a back-up plan, but God Our Father Is So Perfect In All His Ways... He doesn't need back-up plans! It's just His Plan...and His Plan always works 🔥. The fact that you are reading these words right now are a living witness to Proverbs 19:21, because back when this devotion was originally shared, this servant was determined to share something else. When this devotion was written, this servant "wrestled" with The Word all night. The Word Won. Pun intended there, because Jacob Israel himself helped on this one, literally. I will explain, but let's take a quick look at the aforementioned Proverbs 19:21: “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of The Lord (YHWH, Yahweh) that will stand.” Proverbs 19:21 ESV “Many plans are in the heart of a man, but the purpose of Yahweh will be established.” Proverbs 19:21 LEB While doing research for devotions, back when this devotion was written, this servant ran across a great Bible Study. It was a Bible Study by none other than a Brother named Jacob Israel. That's no joke. This enlightened, spirit-filled Brother's name was Jacob Israel. I ran across Jacob and he gave an absolute blessing, revealing a wonderful mystery. Now, it is my absolute honor and joy to share it with you. First, let's take a look at a verse from The Gospel of Luke: Yeshua, Jesus Said: “Now it happened as they journeyed on the road, that someone said to Him, “LORD, I will follow You wherever You go.” And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but The Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Luke 9:57-58 Let's start by pointing out that “The Head” is a metaphor for how a person THINKS. It is the beginning of all we do. In Romans 8:6 God's Word Says: “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by The Spirit is Life and Peace.” Romans 8:6 Yeshua, Jesus Christ's HEAD = Truth. In fact, Jesus, aka The Truth, is to be Our Head. Truth should be where we begin and should be what we think about before we do anything. Why? Because Yeshua, Jesus Christ, aka The Truth, will set you free! Let’s pause and get a witness: “but, speaking The Truth in Love, may grow up in all things into Him who is THE HEAD—Christ—” Ephesians 4:15 Now, in Luke 9:57-58 Our Savior isn't just talking about a trying to find a place to sleep. We know that Christ is “The Head” and Christ Is The Truth. If He has nowhere to put His Head, “The Head of Truth,” could it be that no one accepts The Truth? Well, I guess first we need to find out what the "foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nest" part is all about, right? Well, it turns out, just as Our Messiah isn't talking about a place to sleep for Himself, He also isn't really speaking about foxes or birds either. Let's take a look and see how Scripture defines these foxes and birds. First, let’s answer the question: what do foxes and birds of the air do? “Catch us the foxes, The little foxes that spoil the vines, For our vines have tender grapes.” Song of Solomon 2:15 “And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it.” Mark 4:4 The foxes "spoil the vines." The birds of the air devour the seed that was sewn. Interesting, so the "foxes" and "birds" can do some serious damage, and let's make no mistake, Our Messiah is speaking in spiritual terms. From Yeshua’s, Jesus's, explanation later in Mark, we know that "birds of the air" are the worries of the world and people who persecute believers in the world because of The Truth or "for The Word's Sake." Ok, so now we need to know what foxes are representing. Let's take a look and let Our Father’s Word give us the meaning: “Thus says The Lord (Yahweh) GOD: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! O Israel, your prophets are like foxes in the deserts.” Ezekiel 13:3-4 And a little further down: “Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, ‘The LORD (Yahweh) says,’ but I have not spoken.” Ezekiel 13:7 Aha! So “foxes” are false prophets, religious people, and leaders that have been deceived and “birds of the air” are people in the world who persecute because of The Word or The Truth. Can you see where this is going yet? If not, here is extended version the verse one more time and the spiritual meaning behind it: The verse: “And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.” Luke 9:58 Now, let’s put that verse in spiritual terms, as defined by The Word of God: People have PLENTY of room for worldly people, religious leaders, ideas, and lies, but no one accepts THE TRUTH. Wow, right?! Think about this: God Our Father gave us all this Bread of Life, mystery revealing treasure, and revelation through His Son, The Truth, and He used His servant, Jacob Israel, to help reveal that Truth. Amazing! If that last sentence isn't Prophetic, I just don't know what is. Once again The Truth, God's Word, Yeshua, or Jesus Christ, whichever Name you choose, reveals another “Heavenly Treasure.” Praise Our Abba Yah! We have a Good, Good Father my Brothers and Sisters and His Glory Knows No Bounds. While there is so much more to discover here, there just isn't enough time to go through the rest of the “Heavenly Treasures” waiting for us in this Chapter of Luke today. We will have to save that “Bread of Life” for another time. With that said, let's conclude today with the words Our Savior Spoke directly following His Profound Statement in Luke 9:58. I Love This. He tells us that there are plenty of lies, deceived people, deceived leaders, deceived prophets, and persecutors in the world, but no one is willing to accept The Truth. So what does Yeshua, Jesus Christ, The Savior Of The Whole World Have To Say Immediately Following This Statement?.... "Then Jesus said..., “Follow Me!” Luke 9:59 Perfect, just perfect. Final Note: This entire verse Luke 9:57-59 begins with a person vocalizing they will follow Yeshua “wherever you go.” Then Yeshua states that the world has plenty of time for everything but The Truth. Immediately following this Yeshua says “follow Me.” Now, how do you suppose the people stating “I will follow You anywhere” responded? They made excuses about the things they needed to “wrap up” first… before they followed Yeshua. How does Yeshua respond? Let’s take a look: “Then He said to another, “Follow Me.” But he said, “LORD, let me first go and bury my father.” Jesus said to him, “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach The Kingdom of God.” And another also said, “LORD, I will follow You, but let me first go and bid them farewell who are at my house.” But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for The Kingdom of God.” Luke 9:59-62 When Yeshua calls us, when He says “Follow Me,” are we making excuses about the “other things” we need to “wrap up” first? Have we “put our hand to the plow?” Are we “looking back?” May it not be so! Keep “running the race” and “Fighting The Good Fight” servants of God Almighty! If we but persevere, Yeshua, The Truth, will lead us right where we need to be! Stand strong, feed the hungry, cloth the poor, preach The Kingdom of God, and SERVE THE KING YOU MIGHTY SERVANTS! Remember, if we do…. Yeshua Testifies: “And behold, I AM coming quickly, and My Reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” Revelation 22:12 HalleluYAH!!! Press On Soldiers of Christ! 🔥 May Our Father and Savior bless each and every one of you on the other side of this screen and may His Grace, Peace, and Love be upon you and your entire family! FATHER, THANK YOU that in Your Anointed Son, we are chosen, set-apart (holy), and genuinely loved. When we are tempted to measure our lives according to the world's standards or our foolish comparisons, HELP US to recognize the enemy’s lies, refuse his temptations, avoid his snares, and RELY ON YOUR BEAUTIFUL TRUTH ABOUT WHO WE ARE instead,… SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE ONE TRUE AND LIVING GOD ALMIGHTY! Abba, help us to live and show this TODAY. IN YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST’s NAME we pray. AMEN! - A Servant’s Wisdom and The Source Part 50 Wisdom: “One of the illusions of life is that the present hour is not the critical, decisive hour. Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson The Source AKA The Word This Wisdom Came From: “So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom. Return, O Lord (YHVH, Yahweh)! How long? And have compassion on Your servants. Oh, satisfy us early with Your Mercy, That we may rejoice and be glad all our days! Make us glad according to the days in which You have afflicted us, The years in which we have seen evil.” Psalms 90:12-15 NKJV “For He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in The Day of Salvation I Helped you.” I tell you, now is The Time of God’s Favor, now is The Day of Salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2 NIV “Then the chief cupbearer said to Pharaoh, “Today I recall my failures.” Genesis 41:9 BSB “But you who are clinging to יהוה (YHVH, Yahweh) your Elohim (God) are alive today, every one of you.” Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 4:4 TS2009 “The LORD (YHVH, Yahweh) has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.” Psalms 118:24 NIV “Behold, as your life was respected today in my eyes, so let my life be respected in Yahweh’s Eyes, and let Him deliver me out of all oppression.” 1 Samuel 26:24 WEBUS “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear Yahweh and retreat from evil.” Proverbs 3:7 LEB Prayer: Dear Father God, Yahweh, and Our Savior Yeshua, Thank You for Your Love. Thank You for The Truth and Your Everlasting Word of Teaching. Thank You for always being there for us, for listening to us, Your children. Amen! “For The Word of The Lord (YHVH, Yahweh) is right; and all His Work is done in faithfulness.” Psalm 33:4 AMPC “Listen to counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction, That you may be wise in the time to come.” Proverbs 19:20 AMP “But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:14-17 NIV Please leave any questions, comments, insights, Biblical Nuggets, encouragement, or thoughts in the comments below. Good Morning Monday...
Father thank You for this NEW day. You have blessed us with another WONDERFUL day to see your WISDOM and TRUTH. Abba, please help us with our SPIRITUAL PREPARATION AND SANCTIFICATION to do the things you have already prepared for us. May we USE this day to show this dark and war-filled world Your LIGHT AND GLORY. IN YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST’s NAMEY we pray this TODAY. Amen! Thank you to berean.org and David C. Grabbe for today's devotion. - The Spiritual Preparation and Sanctification of Our Father And Savior And this Gospel of The Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14 In his book, Of God and Man, theologian Aiden W. Tozer could clearly see what the priority of the church should be in this regard: "The popular notion that the first obligation of the church is to spread The Gospel to the uttermost parts of the earth is false. Her first obligation is to be spiritually worthy to spread it." First things must come first. Spiritual preparation must precede physical activity. God sanctified Jesus Christ to do what He did, and yet He still went through thirty years of preparation before preaching for three and a half. Not all of us have the exact sanctification. Not everyone has been set apart to do what Paul did, or what Peter did, or what John did. They received a specific calling, a specific sanctification to do what they did. God directed these men as He saw fit, and they submitted to Him. Nevertheless, He does not direct everyone to do the same thing. There are many offices in God's House, and many functions within The Body of Christ (see I Corinthians 12:1-11, 28-30). However, if we have been called by God, we have been given a general sanctification (I John 2:27). We have already been set apart from the world (John 17:6). What is more, we are being sanctified (Hebrews 2:11). We are being purified and having God's Character and Nature created in us. This is The Work that The Creator Is Doing. This is what Tozer called being "spiritually worthy," and what we call "go[ing] on to perfection" (Hebrews 6:1). This is the foundational, underlying, core responsibility of each of God's children, regardless of whether another, more specific sanctification is added to it. God Bless everybody and have a Wonderful, Yeshua-Jesus-Filled Week! Please leave any questions, comments, insights, Biblical Nuggets, encouragement, or thoughts in the comments below. Good Morning Sacrifice Sunday…
Dear FATHER GOD, we believe we exist only because of You and we want to THANK YOU FOR THE GIFT OF LIFE. It isn’t always the way we think it should be, but Life is amazing and it all comes from You. YOU HAVE BLESSED US WITH wonderful people and things in our lives, particularly YOUR SON AND YOUR SALVATION. We are eternally grateful for everything You’ve provided for us. WITH much THANKSGIVING from Your Sons and Daughters WE PRAY IN THE MIGHTY NAME OF YOUR SALVATION AND OUR MESSIAH YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST. Amen! - Wanna Shine Like A Light In This Dark World? Be Obedience. Don’t Complain Yeshua, Jesus Christ, wraps up the epitome of His followers mission with this statement: “Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Matthew 16:24 Paraphrased this is saying: If you desire Me, stop thinking about yourself, what you want, and serve others regardless of the cost. There are translations of The Bible that even state and translate The Scripture this way. We can see that Our King is telling us that our lives should consist of denial of self, self-control, and obedience to Him. Denying ourselves definitely means we won't always get what we want. We must sometimes just do what Yeshua wants and put all else to the side. This is where the tough part comes in... Do we accept this with joy or do we complain and argue? God's Word tells us in Phillipians 2:14: “Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you SHINE AS LIGHTS IN THE WORLD,” Philippians 2:14-15 If we have made a commitment in our lives to follow and serve Yeshua, Jesus Christ, then we have obviously come to the decision that following Him is the best option. If this is the case, then complaining gets us nowhere. It just doesn't make sense. What does make sense? Picking up our cross, having a good disposition, and following THE WAY with a godly attitude. It may be difficult, but this is what Our King has asked from us. God's Word goes on to state we should do things without arguing. Our Savior Is Our God and if we Love Him... why would we argue with Him about His Authority or Plan? There is nothing wrong with forming an argument FOR THE WAY He Has Chosen for us to go. Despite any difficulties, we should be arguing only for what He Has Already Chosen For Us. This is how we "SHINE AS LIGHTS IN THE WORLD"... by being obedient and doing it without complaint. “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, that they may see your good works and GLORIFY YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN.” Matthew 5:13-16 May we all, if we have made the decision to follow Yeshua, Jesus Christ, obey His Will. Once we have made this decision, may we all do it with a "Light-Shining" Disposition. Father, Mighty God and Creator, we ask your help with this, for we know we are only Strong In You. Help us to be your modern day Daniels, Moses(s), Davids, Noahs, Josephs, and all Your Obedient Servants, but most of all... help us to Shine Like Lights showing Your Son and Our King, The One Perfect Man, Yeshua, Jesus Christ, for it is He Who Saves. In Jesus's Name we pray and ask this of You, Abba. Amen. Please leave any questions, comments, insights, Biblical Nuggets, encouragement, or thoughts in the comments below. Good Morning Sabbath Peace...
Father Thank You for Your REST. Thank You for Your Day. Help us to “SEE” You in all things, the challenges and the triumphs. Please give us PEACE ON THIS Your SABBATH DAY. IN YESHUA Ha'Mashiach, JESUS CHRIST OUR MIGHTY MESSIAH AND LORD OF THE SABBATH’s Name we pray. AMEN. - Persuasion: Our Father’s Love And Yeshua’s Example Daniel and his companions dealt with some pretty heavy stuff. All the while they never were bitter, angry, or showed animosity against their captors. They didn't treat their oppressors with contempt or treat them as "enemies." Instead, they prayed for, cared for, gave good advice to them, and most importantly... they Loved them. They persuaded with Love and Christ. We as Bible-Believing Jesus-Followers are called to do the same as Daniel and his friends. We are called to go into the entire world and not only spread The Message of Our Messiah Yeshua, Jesus Christ, but to also teach and obey. Many times we as believers can take The Great Commission in the wrong way. Our Messiah taught us, loved us, and obeyed Our Father perfectly. His perfect example is supposed to be our ultimate litmus test. Is there anywhere He shows us to impose our standards on nonbelievers, preserve a particular culture, or create a Christian Nation? There isn't. Believe, Repent, Obey, and Love Unconditionally... That is The Message of The Gospel. Our Father and His Son Are The One Who Creates. Our Father and Our Messiah want us to win over the lost, show kindness, mercy, and teach Truth. We are to persuade gently and with kindness those Our Father has placed in front of us to witness about Him. Rome had no problems with persecuting Christians and letting every other pagan nation run wild. This is the setting the first century church was raised up in to change the world. No morals, values, sexual perversion was the norm, and only the wealthy and elite received anything close to what we would call justice. Just take a look at every apostle except one dying a martyr's death, and even the one that survived was boiled in oil, to see the injustice that flowed like a river. All these horrible things happened in the early church and remarkably The Message and focus is still firmly planted in changing people's hearts and minds... not governments, culture, policy, or man's laws. Spiritual Warfare; that is the battle we face. When we encounter a nonbeliever, it is not the physical we battle, but the unseen battle we are fighting. Our weapons are The Fruits of The Holy Spirit, and knowing those attributes, we should act accordingly. Nonbelievers are not the enemy and our enemy is not flesh and blood. Nonbelievers are the victims of the enemy and Our Father will judge them, not us. When we see a victim of an unfortunate event, we save... not obliterate. Let's take a look at what God's Word has to say about the issue: “What [business] of mine is it and what right have I to judge outsiders? Is it not those inside [the church] upon whom you are to pass disciplinary judgment [passing censuring sentence on them as the facts require]? God alone sits in judgment on those who are outside. Drive out that wicked one from among you [expel him from your church].” 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 “And a servant of The Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know The Truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.” II Timothy 2:24-26 “because our struggle is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 We are sent forth to show mercy, give witness to The Truth, Our Savior, and call others to repentance. We are to persuade, not to persecute. Our Father has Peter state it wonderfully: “And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” But sanctify The Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” I Peter 3:13-17 We may be living in a figurative, and maybe even literal Babylon or Rome, but we don't have to be Babylonians or Romans. Our goal is to introduce others to Yeshua, Jesus Christ Our Savior and He Does The Changing Of Hearts and Minds. It is Christ in us that those Babylonians and Romans will see and that is our ultimate goal. It is unfortunate that many of us, myself included, have missed the boat many times when presented with persecution. As our culture grows closer and closer to the Babylon and Roman cultures of old, the more bitterness, gossiping, falseness, and ruthless criticism grows. Sometimes it is hard to deal with, but we must continue to be disciplined. We must be the ones to show Christ, His Ways, and His Kind and Gentle rebukes which He Gave to nonbelievers and believers. This is in complete contrast to the ways of the world and it is how we are to Persuade With Our Father’s Love and Persuade With Our King Yeshua’s, Jesus Christ’s, Example. We must remember, Our Messiah only blasted the religious hypocrites of the day that were pointing sinners in the wrong way. While many might point to these rebukes of Jesus to justify their actions of extreme criticism, it is prudent to point out... he didn't rebuke the sinners who weren't hypocrites. He just persuaded them. If we focus on Our Savior giving the Pharisees their due rebukes, we may be missing the point. Whether it is Our Messiah, The Perfect Example, Daniel, His Friends, Joseph, or The Apostles, we must be prepared to: "always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” If we do this, we are properly using PERSUASION, because we are doing it with OUR FATHER’S LOVE and with Our King YESHUA’S, Jesus Christ’s, EXAMPLE. The Persuasion of Christ The King and His Love: “But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise. “But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back. But Love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” Luke 6:27-36 God Bless Everybody and have a Wonderful Yahweh’s Love-Yeshua’s Example-Blessed Day! Father thank you for this NEW day. You have blessed us with another WONDERFUL day to see your WISDOM and TRUTH. May we use this day to show this dark world Your FRUIT, Your LIGHT, AND Your GLORY TODAY! In YESHUA, JESUS CHRIST’s Name we pray. Amen!!! A gigantic THANK YOU to God (YAHWEH), God's Word (Jesus Christ), berean.org, Brother John Ritenbaugh, Bryann Trejo, and Brother Larry Good for today’s devotion. - The Enemy Will Tempt You, And… You Gotta Fight Him With The Word! (3) Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." (4) But He answered and said, "It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from The Mouth of God." Matthew 4:3-4 NKJV Even when Satan says Truth, even when he quotes Scripture, he puts a perverse twist to it. How did our King fight Satan? With Truth, with The Word of God! That is how one defeats satan: being confident that Jesus Christ has already secured the victory and that God has put a hedge around us so that we will not fall into a situation confronting Satan that is beyond us, and being absolutely reliant upon The Truth of God, The Word of God! Even though we may not be able to see how it is worked out, even though we may feel that following The Truth of God is going to require a considerable sacrifice on our part, we have the example of Jesus Himself fighting Satan by relying upon The Truth of God. He trusted what God said. One might wonder why Satan used "if." He did not use "if" to get Jesus to doubt His Sonship. Jesus knew who He was. Rather, he was trying to get Him to reflect on the meaning of "if." Satan seems to be saying, "Surely, if You are the Son of God, You have the right to expect Your needs at the moment to be satisfied." Jesus did not fall for it. As hungry as He was, He knew it was a trap. He knew He did not have to be concerned about supplying His material needs because God would do it for Him. Did He not later say, "If God so feeds the birds of the field"? This was a temptation for Christ to use His Sonship in a way other than its God-ordained purpose. What is the God-ordained purpose of our calling? "Seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). That is The Truth of God. God will supply what we need. So Jesus' answer was, "Thank you, but I'll just wait for God to supply My need." He cut him down with The Sharpest Sword Ever Known to man, The Sword of The Spirit, The Word of God! “But seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Matthew 6:33 NKJV “But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.” Matthew 6:33 AMPC “For The Word that God Speaks is Alive and Full of Power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 AMPC “Study yourself to be approved… arm yourself. You need to feed spirit food… don’t starve yourself.” ~ Bryann Trejo Praying Each And Everyone of You On The Other Side of This Screen have a Great Yeshua-Word-of-God-Sword-of-The-Spirit-Filled Day.
